‘World’s best’ Italian restaurant opens new sky-high location on Toronto’s waterfront

Toronto’s iconic spot for Italian fine dining has relocated from Casa Loma to a new and even more picturesque venue. Don Alfonso 1890 is bringing the “world’s best” Italian dining experience to the waterfront.

Not only is Don Alfonso headed by two Michelin Star Chefs, Alfonso & Ernesto Iaccarino, but the restaurant also claimed the number one spot in a prestigious ranking of the world’s best Italian restaurants for 2022.

The restaurant is now the recipient of the Prosecco DOC Award, presented by the 50 Top Italy guide for serving up the best Italian cuisine anywhere outside of Italy.

The restaurant also received the Meal of the Year Award for its multi-course prix fixe tasting menu that combines top-quality ingredients with a modern, Mediterranean flair.

Now, diners are invited to the brand new Don Alfonso 1890 restaurant at Toronto’s Westin Harbour Castle at 1 Harbour Square.

Liberty Entertainment Group, the company that owns Don Alfonso 1890, told Curiocity that the new location occupies the 38th floor of the hotel, with stunning 360-degree views of both the city skyline and the harbour.
