Toronto’s iconic spot for Italian fine dining is relocating from Casa Loma to a new and even more picturesque venue. Don Alfonso 1890 has announced that it will be moving to its new permanent home this summer, bringing the “world’s best” Italian dining experience to the waterfront.

Not only is Don Alfonso headed by two Michelin Star Chefs, Alfonso & Ernesto Iaccarino, but the restaurant also claimed the number one spot in a prestigious ranking of the world’s best Italian restaurants for 2022.

The restaurant is now the recipient of the Prosecco DOC Award, presented by the 50 Top Italy guide for serving up the best Italian cuisine anywhere outside of Italy.

The restaurant also received the Meal of the Year Award for its multi-course prix fixe tasting menu that combines top-quality ingredients with a modern, Mediterranean flair.

In the coming months, diners will be invited to the brand new Don Alfonso 1890 restaurant at Toronto’s Westin Harbour Castle at 1 Harbour Square.

Liberty Entertainment Group, the company that owns Don Alfonso 1890, told Curiocity that the new location will occupy the 38th floor of the hotel, with stunning 360-degree views of both the city skyline and the harbour.

Construction is well underway for the new restaurant with a slated opening timeline of early summer. However, Liberty Entertainment Group says there’s still a lot of work to be done before the new location can open.

If you’re keen to be among the first to experience the new location, reservations are now being accepted for June 16 onward.
