Guess what, wine lovers? You don’t need to wait for warmer weather to experience some top-notch sips in British Columbia’s wine country, AKA the Okanagan. District Wine Village in Oliver has 13 wineries, a brewery, a distillery and a restaurant to enjoy, as well as free outdoor skating all winter long!
Opening earlier this month, the new outdoor rink is full of nostalgia and reminiscent of small-town winter festivities.
Guests can enjoy a wine tasting under twinkling holiday lights and lace up their skates all in one visit.
Ice skates will be available to rent for $5 a pop.
BC’s wine village also has an artisan bakehouse with some sweet treats to snack on, as well as a bookshop to peruse during your visit.
A representative tells Curiocity that the ice rink will remain open until March 2025, so you’ve got plenty of time to go check it out!
District Wine Village is open from Thursday to Monday from noon to 6 pm, though some hours of individual wineries vary. The ice rink operates from nono to 6 pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
So there you have it, Vancouver! If you’re looking to do some wine or craft beer tastings in a beautiful setting, this is a great road trip option for the holiday season and beyond.
Enjoy!
When: Ice skating rink open now until March, 2025
Where: 100 Enterprise way, Oliver
