For the most part, we try to avoid using cliche sayings – but two is better than one, the more there are the merrier and there is definitely strength in numbers!

Not convinced? Then we’d suggest checking in with the towns of Turner Valley and Black Diamond, who have been in the process of officially merging their populations, resources and names, since submitting their joint amalgamation application in September of 2021.

Aptly named the “new” town of Diamond Valley, this Alberta destination rang in the new year as one and will eventually get a new logo and see its bylaws combined as they are amended, repealed and replaced in the future.

As of right now, very little has changed for its residents except the address on their personal identification cards and their mayor – who was elected this winter along with new councillors.

In addition, their population has doubled to around 5,600 people, according to CTV News – plus their name will look even snazzier on maps and welcome signs – which we love for them.

This will be quite the adjustment – but don’t tilt your head too far next time you’re in the area!

No, the towns of Turner Valley and Black Diamond,  were not in your imagination – they’ve just been upgraded and it’s going to be mighty exciting!
