So what exactly is Daylight Saving Time? It’s the practice of setting the clocks forward one hour from standard time during the summer months, and back again in the fall, in order to make better use of natural daylight!

In Ontario, Daylight Saving Time will begin on March 10th, 2024. The clocks will move forward at 2:00 AM, to 3:00 AM instead.

Sunrise and sunset will be about one hour later as of March 10th, meaning more daylight into the evening. Goodbye early sunsets!

The current sunset in Ontario falls at around 6:00 PM, meaning after March 10th, we can expect 7:00 PM or later sunsets.

If there is one downfall, it would be that Ontarians might wake up a little sleepy on March 10th, as we will be losing one hour of sleep. Fair trade-off for a little more daylight though, right?

Daylight Saving Time ends on November 3rd, 2024 but let’s not worry about that just yet.
