There are 300-year-old trees & rushing waterfalls at this popular BC park

Here’s a fun fall adventure that’s close to home. Cypress Falls in West Vancouver is home to beautiful fall colours and 300-year-old trees – truly a testament to how accessible the great outdoors is in British Columbia.

And if you’re looking for a dog-friendly park, even better, because the park’s trails are a designated off-leash area!

Home to rushing waterfalls and a scenic creek, Cypress Falls has plenty of viewpoints along its network of trails. Plus, its low elevation makes it a great option during the colder months, when many other trails are blanketed in snow.

According to the park’s website, the first falls are a short walk from the parking lot, and the upper falls are a 30-minute walk away – both offering breathtaking views.

Visitors may also spot eagles, squirrels, bluejays, and sparrows on their journey.

Note that black bears are actively feeding at the nearby Cypress Park, according to BC Parks. So be sure to brush up on your bear safety knowledge before venturing out, just in case.

So there you have it, Vancouver! You don’t have to go far to chase some waterfalls.

Cypress Falls Park

How to get there: Drive 20 minutes from Vancouver via BC-1A/BC-99 N and Trans-Canada Highway/BC-1 W/BC-99 N.
