Looking for the ideal long weekend day trip? Cultus Lake Park offers one of the most accessible lake days near Vancouver, at just an hour and a half’s drive from the city. With crystal-clear waters, sandy beaches, and almost 300 front-country campsites to choose from, the only hard time you’ll have is leaving!

Water enthusiasts can spend all day swimming through warm waters, kayaking, or paddleboarding. The lake’s gentle waves also provide the perfect conditions for boating and water skiing – if that’s more your speed. Its scenic and inviting beaches make for an idyllic spot for sunbathing, picnicking, and building sandcastles.

For hikers, trails like the Seven Sisters Trail (connecting Entrance Bay and Clear Creek campgrounds) and the more challenging Teapot Hill Trail offer stunning mountain vistas. And for those seeking more family-friendly action, you can check out Cultus Lake Waterpark, one of the largest of its kind in BC.

Note that swimming is only permitted in marked, buoyed areas, as there are steep drop-offs on the lakeshore and no lifeguards on duty.

And as with other BC Parks, firewood is available for purchase in the park, and should not be collected at any of the campsites.

So there you have it, Vancouver. Consider this beautiful lake day setup if you’re scouring the internet for last-minute plans.
