This thrilling Alberta trail is one of the best in Canada

Summer is nearing its end, but don’t fret. In Wild Rose Country, hiking is a year-round activity, but you’ll want to act fast if you want to check out Crypt Lake Trail in Waterton National Park, Alberta.

Nestled in one of Wild Rose country’s most beautiful parks, this particular hike is considered “one of the best in Canada,” but you’ll only have until October to visit.

Once named one of National Geographic’s “19 Thrilling Trails Guaranteed to Make Your Heart Race,” adventure seekers are encouraged to take the trip of a lifetime—as long as they’re not afraid of heights!

What can you expect?

With five breathtaking waterfalls, narrow paths, and towering trees, Crypt Lake Trail is a 17-km day hike that will challenge and excite you right from the jump!

Unlike other hiking trails in the area, you’ll first have to climb aboard a boat which only runs between June and October.

Your journey will start on the other side—and boy, will it have been worth the $32.

From the trailhead to the lake, you’ll encounter a steel ladder, a 60-foot tunnel, a beautiful alpine lake, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains, in addition to everything mentioned above.

With tight spaces and safety rails, this is where hikers go to challenge themselves, so come prepared!

Wear comfortable shoes, bring water, snacks, and a friend then break a sweat.

This uniquely Albertan excursion is a must-do for those who like to push themselves to the limit – but safety is extra important.

We can’t wait to see your photos, Alberta!

Enjoy and happy hiking.
