This BC park has four riverside hot spring pools that are free to visit

It’s no secret that British Columbia is home to some truly breathtaking natural hot springs, but Lussier Hot Springs has to be one of the most beautiful (and underrated, if you ask us). Surrounded by two crystal-clear mountain lakes, the hot springs are open year-round and completely free to visit, so there’s no rush in planning a trip!

Situated within Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park, the hot springs are adjacent to a historic lakeside hiking trail, which takes hikers through a Douglas-fir forest from the Alces Lake campground to the Home Basin campground.

Park visitors can take a dip in the shining Alces and Whiteswan Lakes, or enjoy the soothing mineral waters of the free-to-access hot springs near the park entrance after a full day of adventuring.

The hot springs consist of four naturally constructed mineral pools by Lussier River, accessible via Whiteswan Forestry Road.

According to the hot springs website, pool temperatures can range from as hot as 47°C (118°F) to around 34°C (94°F). So you’ll be able to get all warm and toasty before taking a cool, refreshing dip in the river!

The park sits at the base of the stunning Kootenay Ranges of the Rockies, 22 kilometres southeast of the Village of Canal Flats.

So there you have it, hot spring fans! If you’re looking for a lesser-known hidden gem to unwind at this summer or fall, you know where to go.
