First of all Alberta, congratulations! We, as a province, have collectively managed to return 84% of non-refillable beverage containers. This is one of the highest return rates in Canada. And second of all, Alberta Beverage Container Recycling Corporation (ABCRC) has found an ingenious way to perfect our recycling. ABCRC recently launched its new campaign to get the return rate up to 90%. The new initiative, ‘Contain The Unreturned,’ was launched today and will run all summer long.
Now here is the ingenious bit. As part of their campaign, ABCRC set up an interactive installation in DT Calgary at The Victoria Park BIA. The two-storey installation was unveiled this morning and it gamifies the recycling process.
In fact, the larger-than-life, uniquely Albertan, Plinko-style game is aptly named Depot Drop. As a player, you identify what goes back to the Depot and then put your learning to practice IRL.
And why exactly would you do that? Glad you asked!
Players can win some super exciting range of Alberta-based, eco-friendly prizes. And we mean legit exciting. Think the likes of a two-day Goldleaf Service rail journey for two on the famous Rocky Mountaineer and a host of other family-friendly activities.
The installation will be on for a limited period and so will be your chance to win. Our suggestion: head over to experience this brilliant installation RN.
And fellas, let’s make the 90% return rate happen!
