There’s nothing like a wedding to bring people together, especially when the groom is captain of the Edmonton Oilers.
With several NHL stars in attendance—including Zach Hyman, Leon Draisaitl, Evander Kane and Ryan McLeod—Connor McDavid married designer, Lauren Kyle, in a lavish ceremony facing Lake Muskoka in Ontario.
“Married the love of my life and it was the most perfect weekend I could ever imagine!” Kyle wrote on social media alongside photos of the couple and the venue on Old Woman Island.

In addition to a series of videos of their rehearsal dinner, welcome party, and ceremony, Vogue Australia also featured the event in their most recent issue.
From her many dresses and flowers to the cake, every detail appears to have been chosen with deep thought and in some cases, for sentimental reasons—according to the publication.
“I was really entrenched into all the finest details of the wedding,” she told them in an interview.
“I wanted everything we did to have meaning.”
Cute, right?
