The City of Vancouver is hiring for dozens of different jobs across its departments, and one of them just might have your name on it if you’re looking to land your next gig. According to the City, all staff jobs come with a competitive base pay, flexible work arrangements, and extended health and dental coverage. So, dust off your resumes and get ready to apply, because many of these openings were posted within the past couple of days.
The Parks & Recreation department page says that employees connect residents to green spaces across the city, with jobs at parks, golf courses, community centres, playing fields, destination beaches, and gardens.
Open roles here currently include a Utility Maintenance Worker I – Pools ($28.10 to $32.92 per hour), Utility Maintenance Worker II – Ice Rinks ($29.20 to $34.30 per hour), Recreation Programmer II ($35.72 to $42.04 per hour), and Fitness Centre Worker ($27.39 to $32.20 per hour), to name just a few.
Always wanted to work at the VPL? The department is currently hiring Library Public Service Associates I and II ($25.93 to $30.41 per hour), a Senior Library Public Service Associate ($34.30 to $40.34 per hour ), and a
Children’s Librarian I, Floating ($38.75 to $45.62 per hour), among others.
The City’s Engineering Services division has tons of open positions right now, ranging from Operations Worker II – Street Cleaning ($34.22 per hour) to Engineering Assistant IV ($43.78 to $51.70 per hour) to Trades – Electrician ($52.18 per hour).
According to the City, its Engineering Services department is responsible for “infrastructure essential to the quality of life for residents and businesses,” which includes everything from sewage and drainage to public spaces, transportation, and water distribution.
