Scratch whatever plans you have for Canada Day because we’ve got the best ones for you, thanks to the City of Surrey. The city is bringing back the iconic (and free) Surrey Canada Day in partnership with Prospera Credit Union. And from the sound of it, this one’s going to be bigger and better than ever. Not that we are surprised!
Western Canada’s largest Canada Day event will take over the Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre on Saturday, July 1 from 10 AM to 10:30 PM. And it will feature a ton of fun-filled performances, activities, rides, fireworks and much, much more.
To begin with, the JUNO award-winning, Toronto-based indie rock band, Broken Social Scene will be headlining the musical performances. These will be followed by powerhouse progressive-rock duo, Crowns Land and JUNO award-winners Neon Dreams.

Then there will be a Kids’ Stage for family-friendly entertainment, dance lessons, amusement rides, food trucks and exhibitors. Basically, the Surrey Canada Day celebration has everything you need to have a blast.
And while it is a great opportunity to come together as a community, the celebration will also feature a ton of workshops and educational activities in the Indigenous Village. This is where you can learn more about the Indigenous cultures and the true history of Canada.
Reserving the best for the last, the Surrey Canada Day celebration will finish off with a grand fireworks finale. Which, no doubt, will be a beautifully dazzling affair.
So, gear up to honour our beloved country, celebrate the community and have an awesome time.
