Cinco de Mayo is around the corner and we are ready to party. What better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo than with a margarita in hand and some delicious Toronto food?
In case you didn’t know, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day (that’s in September). This holiday celebrates the Mexican defeat of the French army in 1862.
Now that we’ve got that cleared up, let’s dive into our roundup of Cinco de Mayo festivities going on in Toronto this year.

Baro’s Cinco de Mayo dinner
Baro has partnered with Don Julio to ring in Cinco de Mayo, offering a curated prix fixe dining experience featuring signature dishes and festive beverages. Tickets are required, so snag them before they’re gone.

RendezViews
Toronto’s go-to summer patio, RendezViews, will be back for its third season kicking off on May 5th with a Cinco de Mayo kick-off celebration. This year, RendezViews will be offering two distinct experiences. The Ballroom will be hosting guests on the west side and Selva + The Fifth Social Club + PAI on the east side. Be sure to book your spot in advance!

3-day fiesta at El Catrin

The annual Cinco de Mayo celebration returns at El Catrin from May 5-7th, and it will feature two chefs, new and exclusive menu items, drink features, and DJs. On May 5, also expect a mariachi band and tequila tastings.

Barrio
Leslieville’s Barrio will be hosting Cinco de Mayo festivities on Thursday. Cinco de Mayo or not, Barrio’s menu is always stacked for lunch, brunch, and dinner. Plus, they’ve got drink selections unlike any other, and they have a great patio. We’ll certainly raise a glass to that!

Cinco De Mayo, Live From Under The Neon Palms

Less food more dancing? Cinco De Mayo’s Live From Under The Neon Palms is an event at the El Mocambo this Thursday, featuring salsa dance lessons, margaritas, and a live band.

Petty Cash
Petty Cash is hosting a fiesta to kick off the summer! Their massive Cinco de Mayo party will include live music, $5 food features, margaritas, and good times all around.
