Great news, Vancouver! The back-alley patio that stole our hearts two summers in a row has finally reopened for the season, following multiple permitting delays with the City of Vancouver. Thanks to the outpour of community support and the efforts of their team, Chupito has officially opened its proverbial doors to the public.

Time to make up for lost time with sun-soaked afternoons and some of the best sips in town! If you’re looking for a fun, hidden spot to check out, read on.

In terms of the menu, Chupito always delivers when it comes to crafting refreshing, unique cocktails, especially ones that are mezcal and tequila-based. Though the menu also features other spirits – including one of our personal faves, La Juarez, which consists of Wallflower gin, Bianco vermouth, cucumber, basil, and green cardamom.

For food, guests can expect an array of delicious snacks and share plates, with an emphasis on dishes made using their charcoal grill. From tostadas de ceviche and tuna to birria tacos, there’s something for everyone here.

Hours & location

Chupito is now open from Tuesday to Friday from 5 pm to 11 pm, and on weekends from noon until 11 pm. The patio can be accessed behind its sister bar, Cantina 189, or through the back alley of Hamilton or Homer Streets and West Hastings.

So there you have it, Vancouver! You know where we’ll be for the rest of the summer.
