The festive season is almost here, and if you’re looking for a special way to celebrate this year, then you have to check out Christmas on the Bay in the charming historic town of Meaford.

Described as a traditional outdoor European-style Christmas market delivers the most festive lights, sounds, smells, experiences, and ambiance you could ask for.

It’s the largest market of its kind in all of Georgian Bay and it’ll be kicking off the holiday season at the start of December.

“Immerse yourself into a world of delightfully decorated traditional wooden stalls, endless seasonal lighting, multiple fire bowls, winter princesses, Christmas trees galore, music, a Santa Claus Parade, dancing windows, and an entertainment stage for live music and performances,” the website says.

Wander among the wooden kiosks where local artisans will be selling their wares as well as delicious locally crafted food and drinks.

You don’t have to celebrate Christmas to enjoy what this event has to offer.

In fact, Christmas on the Bay is a “place where everyone feels welcomed and cherished,” the website says.

The whole town will be participating in the festival too — the stores and restaurants in downtown Meaford will have special offerings of their own.

If you’ve never been, this is a great time to explore Meaford and its surrounding attractions, including the Irish Mountain Lookout.

Plus, the festival is dog-friendly! The event’s jovial Christmas Gnome Georgie will be making regular appearances with its black service doggy, Joe.

So if you’re ready to experience the charm of tradition with the excitement of an open-air marketplace, it’s time to put this event on your calendar!
