If Taiwan is on your travel list this year, this new flight may make it easier for you to get there. China Airlines just announced it is expanding its North American network, and this summer will launch direct flights from Seattle to Taipei.

Starting on July 14th, Taiwan-based China Airlines will fly non-stop to the “Emerald City”, offering five weekly flights to and from both cities.

The airline will be using the Airbus A350-900, and it is currently offering a discount to celebrate.

“To celebrate the non-stop service to Seattle, China Airlines is offering discounts up to 22% off on round trip air fares,” states the airline.

Flights from Seattle to Taiwan Taoyuan International airport are currently showing at $554 USD one-way for select dates in July following the launch.

The China Airlines Taipei-Seattle service will depart every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

“The outbound flight CI022 from Taiwan to Seattle will take off from Taoyuan Airport at 23:30 and arrive to Seattle at 19:50 local time after 11 hours of flying. The return flight CI021 will take off at 01:40 local time from Seattle and arrive back at Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan at 05:05 the following morning after 13 hours of flying,” states the airline.

Safe travels, Seattle!
