Explore this charming Ontario town that is known for its quaint downtown destination, nature trails, stunning natural beauty, and… a huge bull statue. Self-proclaimed as the nicest town around, Chesley offers a great small-town experience, along with a roadside attraction worthy of a picture.
According to Visit Chesley, the town is home to the Saugeen River with nature trails and local shopping, dining, and outdoor experiences.
The town is located in Bruce Country, about two hours north of Toronto and a short drive away from Port Elgin and Sauble Beach.
Though its local shops are definitely something worth exploring, the massive 15-foot-tall bull is the showstopper of it all.

Playfully named Big Bruce, the massive bull monument is a pretty big celebrity when people come to town as many pay it a visit to snap some pics.
According to the town’s site, local beef farmer and politician Harvey Davis discovered Big Bruce.
It was toured around Ontario in the 1970’s as an ambassador for the Bruce County Cattlemen’s Association, representing the booming Bruce County beef industry.
“In 1980, Big Bruce was moved to Chesley, outside of the Elderslie Township Shed, where he stands to this day.”
