Once upon a time we saw the corner of our orthodontist’s office in a show. If you’re in Toronto, chances are pretty dang good you’ve watched more shows and movies filmed locally than you realize. Right now, there are a few different projects slated to be filming in Toronto this year, according to the City. Here’s the scoop on some of the coolest ones!
There are some heavy hitters in this particular alley. Guillermo del Toro is in town to recreate the 1946 classic of the same name in his first directorial project since “The Shape of Water.” Expect to see Bradley Cooper, Willem Dafoe, and Rooney Mara in town, among others. One Reddit user spotted cars from the set at Yonge and Gerrard!
IN THE DARK
This show follows Perry Mattfeld as she portrays a blind woman who stumbles upon the corpse of her friend. Very dark, so don’t be shocked if you see a fake body on the street, we guess. They’ll be in town until all 13 episodes of the newest season are done.
THE HANDMAID’S TALE
Season 4 of this massive hit show is about to start filming right here and will continue throughout the spring and summer. Elizabeth Moss and the team will be in and around the city until all 10 episodes of the highly-anticipated series are complete

Y THE LAST MAN
Fan of post-apocalyptic science fiction? This one’s a treat for you, then! 10 episodes featuring Diane Lane and Barry Keoghan will be filmed in Toronto throughout the spring and summer.
Ever sit down and wonder what life will be like when humans colonize Mars? Us too, often. This drama is has been shooting in Toronto since October, and work on season 5 will wrap later this month. We actually saw a site call this “the best show on TV that no one is watching”, so maybe we’ll tune in.
Seems like we might be running into some sets this year. Think we can track down Bradley Cooper for a photo? Probably not, but we’re still gonna try.
