Here are the cheapest big cities in Canada for renting right now

Looking to save money on rent? Well, according to the experts at Rentals.ca, the cheapest big cities in Canada for renting are a good place to start your search.

The Canadian rental platform has released its National Rent Report for May 2023.

Not only does it show which of Canada’s major cities have the most expensive rent, but also the ones with the most affordable prices.

Paul Danison of Rentals.ca told Curiocity that cities in the Prairie provinces tend to have cheaper prices compared to the rest of Canada.

However, some cities in Quebec — namely Laval and Quebec City — also offer more affordable prices on rent.

The larger Canadian cities that offer the lowest prices on rent are Grand Prairie and Lloydminster, where the average cost of a one-bedroom is $1,010 and $811 per month, respectively.
