Let’s face it, a huge draw of cruises is the food. Whether it’s a bottomless brunch or an AYCE dinner buffet, everything tastes better on the water. And leaning into the ‘foodie’ culture are the new ‘culinary cruises’ via Holland America Line, which take passengers on a delicious journey with some of the most renowned celebrity chefs in the world.

“Our Culinary Cruises have proven to be popular with our guests who appreciate having access to these amazing chefs, and we’re excited to have our Culinary Council members back on board in 2023,” said Michael Stendebach, vice president of food, beverage and guest services, Holland America Line.

“We strive to cultivate unique experiences for our guests, and to learn from a renowned chocolatier or the world’s foremost sushi master is something we hope they will always remember.”

Japanese-born Chef Matsuda leads the sushi offerings at Nami Sushi, Tamarind, and Lido Market, according to a release. And he currently teaches aspiring chefs about all things sushi and Japanese cuisine at his very own Sushi Chef Institute in LA, so those ready to learn are in great hands.

So if you’re ready to set sail in more ways than one (and pick up sushi tips along the way), mark your calendars for May 7th to May 21st.

Bon voyage & bon appétit!
