Paella lovers need no reminder that Paella Guys serves up some of the best around, and we don’t just mean in Vancouver. The beloved catering company serves up authentic Spanish dishes by the dozen at a wide range of events and gatherings, and now, the chef behind the second-best paella in the world is setting up shop in Mount Pleasant – this time with a new venture.

Enter Casa Molina, a concept that is as tasty as it is true to its name. ‘Casa’ meaning ‘house’ in Spanish, the space will retain its cozy home feel, this time reminiscent of the warmth and comfort of a Spanish home.

While nothing can fill the void where Mangia Cucina & Bar once stood, if there’s one chef who can bring a new life to its converted red heritage house, it’s Chef Javier Blanc.

“Our vision for Casa Molina is simple: To provide our guests with an unparalleled dining experience, enjoying impeccable Spanish cuisine in an ambiance that resonates with the warmth of being at home,” the restaurant shares in a statement. “As we often say, “estás en tu casa” – at Casa Molina, you are home.”

With a focus on simple, quality ingredients and traditional recipes, the menu will encompass authentic Spanish dishes, including Chef Blanc’s signature paella. To drink, guests will be able to enjoy timeless Spanish sips from a robust cocktail menu, which is currently in the works.

Patrons will be able to indulge in daily specials at specific dining times, as the space is quite intimate. All the more reason to get excited about making some resos!

As for when you can visit, the restaurant has shared its plans to open this winter. So stay tuned for more info as it comes, including an official opening date!
