Who doesn’t love seeing a pretty picture or two? Capture Photography Festival is set to return to Vancouver this April, and it’s bringing a whole bunch of stuff with it! There are exhibitions, and installations and more to look forward to. So, here’s what to know before it kicks off.

First launched back in 2013, Capture has since become the largest photography festival in Western Canada. Both local and international artists get featured in a variety of ways, from free exhibitions to billboard takeovers around the city.

For the exhibitions, a ton of art galleries around Metro Vancouver are joining in. The list ranges from group exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery, to by-donation options at spots like the Polygon Gallery, to solo shows at places including the Massy Arts Society.

Moving on to the public stuff, expect to see a wide range of billboards and other installations. Our top pick from this lineup? A billboard in Richmond’s River District featuring the work of one of our favourite photographers ever- Yoshinori Mizutani.

This festival officially kicks off on April 1st, and runs until April 29th. However, a fair portion of the exhibitions have got their own schedules going, so we suggest clicking the link below to learn more about it!
