As the November 16th prep deadline comes to a head, film crews working on the set of the Alberta-shot HBO series, The Last Of Us have nearly completed their assigned project of mass proportion. The task? To turn the beloved mountain town of Canmore, into Jackson, Wyoming – a notable location in the video game that inspired the upcoming show.

In an October statement released by the town, residents were notified of road closures and were warned that a ton of ‘new faces’ would be in and around the area while construction was in progress.

Since November 1st when it all kicked off, tourists and locals alike have been posting photos and videos in shock and awe of the insane amount of work they’ve put into the design, and it’s pretty freaking clear why.

From High River to Edmonton and the bustling city of Calgary, these sets have been incredible.

The show – which could be the most expensive in history – follows Joel (Pedro Pascal) a smuggler who is tasked with escorting Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a young girl across post-apocalyptic America; so from abandoned vehicles to warzones, those who live in the area have kinda seen it all.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that the excitement has been completely lost on us. We’re actually convinced that we will never get sick of seeing these locations come to life.

Here are just a few badass photos of Canmore, Alberta as Jackson, Wyoming:

Now, just imagine what it’ll look like with a sprinkle of movie magic!

Luckily, we won’t have to wait too much longer to see Alberta in all of its small screen glory.

The show is set to premiere next year, in 2022.

Until then, we’ll keep you guys updated on all things The Last Of Us, and as for those of you who are in the area – keep tagging us in your photos!

As we said, we will never get sick of seeing these sets come to life.
