The famed Shark Shack, Canada’s only floating restaurant, is now up for sale in BC

We have to admit, we’re currently trying to figure out how we can convince our local credit union to fund us as we try to buy the Shark Shack, Canada’s only floating restaurant. Located on Shuswap Lake in the BC’s Okanagan, this restaurant has been an iconic spot for tourists and locals for over a decade. So, let’s check it out!

The Shark Shack is a collection of 3 barges lined up end to end, resulting in a platform that’s almost 200 feet long and has 4,000 square feet of space. In addition to the restaurant, there’s also accommodations for up to 15 people (in this case, the staff of the restaurant). It makes sense- the restaurant is about a kilometre away from land.

Two of the barges are two stories, and are used for the restaurant, bedrooms, and even a general store. Meanwhile, the third barge is just a big U-shape, so that boats can actually come and park there during the summer. Even though the season only lasts 3 months, the listing claims you can make ‘six figures’ during that time.

The Shark Shack is priced at $749,900, which is actually under the assessed value of the property. Plus, since this is literally the only place that has the approval to operate, we doubt you’ll see any competition for the next few years at least. And, as a final little cherry on top, the buyer will get not one, but two speedboats. You know, just for some extra incentive to pull the trigger and buy this spot.

We’re trying, Shark Shack! We’ve already got something in mind for when it’s ours. What is it? We’re going to pester Shake Shack until they finally agree to do a collaboration with us, and enter the Canadian market at the same time. Yeah, it’s a stroke of genius, we know.

Which is why we won’t even be bummed if someone else does it before us. Just make sure you can get us out there for the opening, please? If you’d like to check out the listing for the Shuswap Shark Shack in full, just click here.
