Canada’s longest-running contemporary art fair will hit Toronto this July

Contemporary art takes Toronto at the 60th Annual Toronto Outdoor Art Fair (TOAF). As Canada’s largest and longest-running contemporary art fair, TOAF has been responsible for launching local artists’ careers for the past 60 years. The event typically showcases over 350 curated artists and makers at Nathan Phillips Square each July.

For the 60th anniversary, things are going even bigger! The Toronto Outdoor Art Fair plans to present over 400 contemporary emerging and seasoned visual artists and makers from across Canada this year. Of course, there is a catch. Thanks to the ongoing pandemic, this year’s festivities will be taking place online.

We know, we know. The virtual adaptation of a normally in-person event is never quite the same. But the event is still sure to be a stellar occasion. Over 830 artists and makers applied to be showcased, with the official selections being chosen by the committee of jurors.

The online programming will include the showcasing of works, virtual panels, artist discussions, and more.

So, mark your calendars for this exciting upcoming event. If you’re interested in Toronto’s arts and cultural scene, attending this event is a must.
