Canadians are a happy bunch! At least the newly released World Happiness Report for 2024, says we are. Canada made the top 20. Keep on reading!

It’s International Happiness Day and the annual World Happiness Report is out, highlighting 143 countries and ranking them based on their contentment.

For those who may not be familiar with the report, the assessment is based on data by The Gallup World Poll on a three-year scale, averaged through 2021 to 2023. This poll asks “respondents to evaluate their current life as a whole using the image of a ladder, with the best possible life for them as a 10 and worst possible as a 0,” according to the WHR.

Around 1,000 responses are gathered for each country and is then ranked.

According to the study, Canada has once again remained within the top 20, landing a spot in 15th – just behind Austria and ahead of Belgium.
