The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth is just around the corner and we’ve all got a catalogue of things that we’re excited to check out this upcoming weekend. At the very top of our must-do list? Watch the Calgary Stampede fireworks, which can actually be done from viewpoints all over the city!

This July for 10 days straight, catch a series of explosive shows of colour and light from these 6 destinations around Calgary.

SCOTSMAN’S HILL 

Ah, Scotsman’s Hill – if you know, you know. From here, you can see the entire city skyline and the Saddledome – which makes for a picture-perfect way to watch the Calgary Stampede Fireworks show. Take it in, folks. There really is nothing like it.

RUNDLE RUINS

Located just minutes from the Calgary Stampede Grounds, the rundle ruins are a favourite among photographers and day-trippers alike. While there may be a few trees in your way, this place is incredibly unique and worth checking out this year.

33 AVENUE SW

Located right above mission road, this residential viewing spot is another Calgary favourite. Though we do recommend keeping the volume of your “oohs” and “ahh’s” to a minimum, this magical hill has a fantastic view of the city,

EAST VILLAGE 

While you won’t get a straight shot of the grounds, there are a ton of spots around the East Village to catch the action this Stampede Whether you park it on the riverwalk hang out near St.Patricks Island you’re in for a mesmerizing show!

HILLCREST AVENUE

With an impressive view of the skyline, Hillcrest Avenue in Mount Royal is another stunning spot away from the busy Stampede Grounds. Make sure you bring a blanket and bug spray, folks! It can get a tad chilly.

TOM CAMPBELL’S HILL 

With benches and a solid view of the city skyline, Tom Cambell’s Hill is another local favourite. From sunsets and northern lights to fireworks displays – this is another spot with a quiet but pretty decent view of Calgary’s NYE celebration.
