It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

The Calgary Stampede has arrived and with it, sun, fun, and plenty to see and do.

Day or night the city will be abuzz, but after dark there’s nothing that’ll stop a cowboy in their tracks like the big fireworks display.

Luckily, you don’t have to be on the grounds to enjoy them!

If you’re among those who aren’t planning to attend the event every night, there are several places where you can catch the explosive show for free between July 5th and 14th.

Here are just a few of the best!

Tom Cambell’s Hill

From sunsets and northern lights to fireworks displays, like the one during the Calgary Stampede, Tom Cambell’s Hill is another local favourite. With benches and a good view of the city skyline, you can’t go wrong!

Where: 25 St. George’s Dr. NE, Calgary

Max Bell Centre

Feel like going for a drive? In your car or on foot, you can also get a distant, but good view of the Stampede Fireworks. Bring snacks, a blanket, and get ready to “ooh and ahh”.

Where: 1001 Barlow Trail SE, Calgary, AB T2E 6S2, Canada

Scotsman’s Hill

Scotsman’s Hill is an incredibly popular spot, not only to see the entire city skyline but to watch the fireworks every Stampede.

This is however a residential area, so it’s recommended that you park elsewhere and access it by foot and that you be quiet and respectful.

Nosehill Park

Don’t mind a few mosquitos and want to go for and evening walk. As long as you plan ahead, Nosehill Park is another pretty decent place to catch a glimpse of the show. Take in the fresh air, look around and enjoy!

Where:  6465 14 St NW, Calgary

And there you have it folks! Just a few places to watch the Stampede fireworks in Calgary that aren’t the grounds. Enjoy and happy viewing!
