Today we’re getting familiar with Calgary Momo House, a spot that specializes in scratch-made, authentic momos with various fillings straight from the Himalayas — it’s momo-geddon! Owned by wife and husband duo Pooja and Chef Prakash Magar, Calgary Momo House delivers diverse and different momo styles and hearty Nepali dishes that you’ll love.
Starting as a COVID project where Pooja and Prakash decided to make their momos from home and sell them online, filling the gap for authentic Himalayan cuisine in the city. Since then, Calgary Momo House has grown with two locations and (perhaps the most impressive) a visit from Mr. Guy Fieri himself – who stopped by, ate, and filmed at Calgary Momo House back in 2021 for the 38th season of “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.”
Hungry for the menu? Vegetarian, chicken, paneer, tandoori, steamed, fried, chilli and (way) more momo varieties are on offer and are always handmade with love — sounds impressive? Even Fieri himself called the restaurant “the house of mighty might momo,” and we agree!
After trying the chef’s signature momo plate, Fieri was smitten with the dish, describing it as a “Fried pillow with a little crunch,” while adding, “Once you get one bite of that, you’re hooked for life.”

With an extensive momo menu, Calgary Momo House also pumps out other equally-as-delicious Nepali plates like Nepali thali, butter chicken, chow mein, fried rice, curries, and more. Always made in-house, you can bet on authentic and fresh tastes no matter your choice.
