Today is a big day, friends. A big, delicious, wonderful day. Why you may be asking? Well, aside from the fact that it’s Friday Eve, today is also the grand opening of the brand new Fusion Korean Corndog spot, Cheezytales!
Sitting down at Canyon Meadows Cinema, this is a great location to hit if you’re in south Calgary and don’t want to make a trip to downtown or beyond. From what we’ve seen, these folks do not play around when it comes to food on a stick, and we are beyond ready to check them out.

Their menu includes inventive eats like the Takoyaki Corndog, which is filled with fishcake and coated with panko, then topped with mayo, takoyaki sauce, and bonito flakes; crowd-pleasers like their potato cheezy dog, which is exactly what you think that it is, and colourful creations like the Papa Dan.
This bad boy is bright green, filled with cheese, crusted in Panko, glazed with Pandan cheese foam, and then topped with shredded young coconut, which makes for a flavourful, taste bud rattling, snack worthy of an Insta post.
All of their snacks look wild and super original, so we can almost guarantee that it’ll be a trip worth taking if only to see what everyone else has ordered. If you’re not ready to leave the house, don’t worry about it though, they’re also on Skip the Dishes, Uber Eats, and Door Dash, so you too can get in on the fun. Happy munching, YYC!
