Wilderness and waterfalls await in a whimsical Ontario small town

Start at High Falls, the perfect spot to capture some stunning photographs (keep an eye out for the secret waterfall there known as Little High Falls!), before checking out Wilson’s Falls Trail, a moderate 3.6 km trail that leads to incredible views of cascading waters.

Then, make your way back downtown to take in Bracebridge Falls — Bracebridge’s most iconic landmark. Take a leisurely stroll along the picturesque Bracebridge Bay Trail, which follows the winding path of the Muskoka River, and where you’ll discover information plaques along the way that detail the history of the area. Don’t forget to come back at night to see the iconic falls lit up!

Eat and drink

When you work up an appetite, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

Grab a bite at The Old Station, a favourite among locals and visitors since 1985. Sit outside with a beer or cozy up inside with some classic pub fare — either way, you’ll be met with a warm, welcoming vibe.

In the mood for something lighter?  Head to Oliver’s Coffee for a caffeine pick-me-up, or grab a pastry to-go from Big River Baking Co.

And if you’re a craft beer lover — welcome to paradise, because craft beer and Bracebridge go hand in hand! Some of the top spots include Muskoka Brewery, Bracebridge Barrelhouse, and the Griffin Gastropub.

Stay the night
