Do you love your neighbors? If so, it turns out you’re not alone. OfferUp just released a new report in honor of Good Neighbor Day (Sept. 28th) checking out just which states were the most neighborly. Guess what? It turns out that Washington is right at the top.

So much so that we actually came in first place! Yep, Washington ranked number one out of our nation’s fifty states, and that’s for a few reasons. OfferUp’s report took a look at ratings and post data from its own community of 56 million yearly users. They then ranked states based on six essential factors that pretty much epitomize what it means to be a good neighbor. Those factors are communicativeness, friendliness, generosity, honesty, punctuality, and reliability.

Washington ranked number one in all six of those factors for the second year in a row. Now Seattle-Tacoma also came in first place as the nation’s most friendly city but varied a little more in each factor ranking. We ranked #1 for generosity, #2 for communicative, friendly, and honesty, and #3 for punctuality. All together though we averaged out in first place. Good work folks!

Now you’re probably wondering who else ranked high on the list. For states, we were followed by California and Maryland and for city’s, we were followed by San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose and Los Angeles. So we better keep an eye out for California… Keep up the good neighborly relations and if you’d like to see the full report you can click here.
