Summer is still here and we’re holding on to every bit of warmth we can! That means we’re spending the rest of our summer days outdoors and exploring our province. So if you’re up for a scenic walk through Ontario’s forests, Mono Cliffs Provincial Park is home to an amazing boardwalk trail through a canyon. Now that’s what we call views!
You’ll find these jaw-dropping canyons and cliffs just an hour outside of downtown Toronto. Mono Cliffs Provincial Park is a popular day trip destination in any season – and with reason.
It’s home to several trails that range from mere metres to almost a 5km trek.
It’s one of those parks that doesn’t need much to stand out. But what does stand out is its picturesque canyon.

To explore and even enjoy the sights of the canyon, you can embark on a trail that cuts right through it.
Take a stroll down the Spillway Trail, a 1.3km trek that guides you through the canyon, clifftops, and 30-metre rock faces.
Since it won’t take you long to complete, you can also explore the other trails at the park.
There are also biking trails and even winter activities, like snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Of course, for when the time comes. But since we’re in summer mode, we’re ready to enjoy the outdoors to its fullest.
Reservations are required in advance to visit Mono Cliffs, so be sure to secure your daily vehicle permit online before you go.
