This cobblestone pedestrian village in Ontario is a dreamy fall getaway

It’s almost time to throw on our sweaters and wander under canopies of red, orange, and gold. You may associate Blue Mountain Village with winter or summer activities, but we’re here to tell you that autumn might be the prettiest time of year to visit.

The cobblestone-filled streets and turn-of-the-century architecture add to the charm as the surrounding hills burst with autumn colours.

This destination has tons of shops and restaurants to check out, as well as year-round activities and outdoor attractions of all kinds.

For example, the annual Apple Harvest Festival takes place in the village on Thanksgiving weekend, and a special dogs-only festival the weekend after.

There’s even an Apple Pie Trail for you to indulge in the delicious flavours of fall.

You can enjoy the picturesque fall leaves by taking one of the many hiking trails and biking paths in the area.

Or, you could see the sights and get your thrills at the same time on the Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster!

This experience whisks you away on an open-air gondola to a magical night walk through the woods.

You’ll have the chance to walk along the mountaintop path and feast your eyes on the wonderful lights in the forest.

You’ll get to wander through an illuminated landscape of LED lights, glowing mushrooms, and wolves, with the starry night sky twinkling above you.

And when you’re ready for some R&R, the IWA Spa and Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain are the region’s top destinations for therapeutic rejuvenation.

Most importantly, though, the captivating views of vibrant autumn leaves on the Niagara Escarpment are enough to make the trip worthwhile.
