These days there’s a month for everything, including riding your bike. As we all know, Seattle prides itself on being a bike-friendly city between paths and accessible trails in local parks. So why not bust yours out? Bike Everywhere Month is on now!

As the month’s name suggests, the goal is to bike around town as much as you can. The official Bike Everywhere Day is May 19th and there are going to be celebration stations scattered around the city. As we get closer to the date, an interactive map will go live showing where to celebrate nearest to you.

Curious about how to celebrate? Well, there are several events around town worth checking out. On May 7th, you can check out Seattle Bike-n-Brews, an event where you bike to raise money and get to taste local brews from three area breweries along the way.

On May 13th, you can enjoy a screening of “Riding Han” at Cascade Bicycle Club in Magnuson Park. It was made by local filmmaker Eugene Pak and details his 2021 ride from Mexico to Canada.

These are just two of several fun events happening throughout the month all encouraging you to get out in the city and move your body. Just remember, if you do hop on your wheels to be alert, and safe and of course wear a helmet. Happy riding!
