Canada is home to some pretty stellar post-secondary schools — the best in the world, in fact. According to Maclean’s newest ranking, the best universities in Canada can be found from coast to coast.

The publisher has released its 2023 university reputation survey, which assesses the universities based on quality, innovation, and leadership.

The ranking is based on feedback from university faculty and senior administrators, as well as Canadian business leaders.

Maclean’s has divided its ranking into four separate areas, combining each university’s Primarily Undergraduate, Comprehensive, and Medical Doctoral categories into one group.

Ontario led the charge in the Best Overall category, with the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo in first and second place.

However, McGill University outranked U of T for Highest Quality, landing in the number one spot out of 49 schools.

The University of British Columbia came in second place in the Leaders of Tomorrow category, behind none other than U of T in first place.
