Canada’s longest running nonfiction film fest returns to in-person experiences this month! However, those looking to enjoy the options at home will be pleased to know that they’re keeping the virtual side as well. And of course, it doesn’t hurt that single screenings are under $10!

ROYAL BISON ART AND CRAFT FAIR

This twice-yearly event will see over 70 local vendors selling everything from books to ceramics to clothing. And of course, cheap entry just means more pocket change for you.

FC EDMONTON

A lesser-known Battle of Alberta goes down this week! FC Edmonton will be taking on Calgary’s Cavalry FC on Friday, which means you get to combine some live sports with a little bit of fresh air. It’s a winning combo, and goodness gracious is the price right!

Edmonton’s municipal courses have all opened for the summer. Sneak out after work for a little twilight tee time, or keep things even cheaper with an hour or two at the driving range just to get warm once more.

Music lovers, you’ve got quite a few options in store this week… First up, relive the best part of the Vans Warped Tour! If you didn’t listen to at least a few Billy Talent songs during an angsty teen phase, then you didn’t grow up in Canada. It’s that simple.

And last but not least, we’ve got a little home-grown country action in store this week! Corb Lund is playing not one, not two, but three back-to-back shows at the Starlite Room to kick off the month.

THE CITADEL THEATRE

In a musical mood, but not sure if a concert is for you? This is our answer. “9 to 5: The Musical” is based entirely on the music of Dolly Parton, which is just an outright amazing idea. We’ll be going back for seconds, and maybe even thirds.

EDMONTON VALLEY ZOO

Keeping the inexpensive options rolling, this is the last week that the Edmonton Valley Zoo is offering discounted admission. Take a half day and work and treat yourself to a few hours looking at some adorable and amazing animals!
