There’s not really a reason to leave Seattle during summer because the summer is essentially the whole point of living in this city. But if you decide that you need to escape, you might as well take a peek at Conde Nast Traveler’s list of the best new hotels in the world. There’s a lot and many are closer than you may think.

Conde Nast’s list includes 22 US hotels with many along the west, mostly in California. Other nearby states included Montana and Hawaii, which isn’t exactly near but is indeed a popular destination for many along the west coast. If you’re looking to head out east there were several hotels mentioned in New York as well as Boston and Nantucket.
