Somehow July is here and that means it’s time to start planning ahead for one of the best months yet. That being said, having fun doesn’t have to cost a ton. So without further ado, here are 12 of the best free & cheap things to do in Seattle this July.
There are plenty of free things to do on the 4th of July. The most notable of course is watching fireworks. Luckily for you, there are all sorts of displays happening around the Sound this July and we’ve compiled a whole list of them for you to check out.
Need to take some time to get back in touch with yourself? You’re in luck because The Frye has a free, mindfulness meditation that you can attend on the first Wednesdays of the month.

Ready to sing to your heart’s content in front of a bunch of strangers or your friends? It might just be time to head to karaoke at Cafe Racer. You’ll find a professional sound system, lights, a real stage, and an impressive library of music.

For those of you that love the Silent Reading Party but are more comfortable at home, you can still enjoy the virtual version. You’ll also get to hear piano tunes from pianist Paul Matthew Moore as you read amongst strangers over zoom.

Now that spring is in full swing and summer is just around the corner, the plants are blooming. That includes our state’s wildflowers which are starting to pop up statewide. Treat yourself to a hike full of beautiful blooms that you won’t soon forget.

Now that spring is here we’re way more in the mood to enjoy Seattle’s outdoor offerings. One of our favorite things to check out is the Fremont Sunday Market. It’s free to visit and you can shop from an array of new, crafted, and vintage items.

Summer is nearly here and that means you have more opportunities than ever to enjoy some great dates. That being said, they don’t have to be expensive! We’ve compiled a whole list of free or cheap date ideas for you in Seattle this summer.
This year’s Book Bingo themes include “Outside Your Comfort Zone,” “Banned or Challenged Book,” “Blue Cover,” and “Sci-fi or Fantasy by a BIPOC Author.” You can also fill in squares for “Read Outside,” “Set Somewhere You’d Like to Visit,” “Set South of the Equator” and much more. It’s the perfect chance to read something new!

The Frye is showcasing work from local “gay folk artist” Jeffry Mitchell. This show highlights his work with lotus bulbs and is sure to be one of the better shows that you see this year. Think bright, happy, and fun pieces.
