These cities are ranked the best for raising a family in Canada

When you’re looking to buy a home in Canada, though the housing market price plays an important role, so does the city to which you will be moving to. Especially if you’re planning on starting a family, the average cost of living differs from city to province. If you’re doing your research as to what city is the best for raising a family in Canada, you’ve come to the right place.

There are several factors that will make or break a city when it comes to raising a family. You need to think of education, local transit, social services, quality of life, etc.

Personal finance and investment company Yore Oyster, ranked 27 Canadian cities based on a number of criteria in order to determine the best to raise a family.

The cost of living, maternity and parental leave, childcare cost, commute time, median age, libraries, quality of life, and crime rate all determined how the cities placed.

Well, according to the list, Trois-Rivieres in Quebec is the best city in Canada to raise a family in.

According to the results, the monthly cost of living for a family of 4 is about $3,388, the average commute time is about 18.6 min and daycare comes to about $7,00 monthly for Preschool or Kindergarten aged children, for a full-Day.

In second place is Quebec City and in third is Sherbrooke, Quebec. It isn’t until 4th place that we’ll see the first Ontario mention, Ottawa. Charlottetown follows suit, with Montreal just behind, followed by Guelph.

Vancouver came in 14th while Toronto comes in 18th place and Edmonton just behind in 19th.
