Bed Bath & Beyond expected to close 200 stores in Canada and the U.S.

Today in, coronavirus sucks. Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. the parent company that owns Buybuy Baby, World Market, and Harmon Face Values, but most popularly, Bed Bath & Beyond, have announced that they will be closing approximately 200 stores across both the United States and Canada over the next two years.

According to the company’s quarterly report which was released Wednesday, Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. shared that sales had fallen a whole 50% since they closed their stores in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Now, with their e-commerce store doing better than ever, they’ve decided that having physical retail spaces just isn’t worth the rent, and who can blame them. It’s not like that isn’t the truth.

For those who like the in-person shopping experience like ourselves, because we appreciate being able to touch our towels before we buy them, this is an inconvenience. However, for employees, this might be devastating, so our hearts are with them!

Until then, because it will take some time to decide which ones they will be shutting down, almost all Bed Bath & Beyond stores are open – so get in there while you can, friends!

Our fingers are crossed that this is the last mass closure we see for a while – even if that is kind of unrealistic. We can only take so much!
