A boat ride and 2km hike will take you to this secluded hot springs in BC

What’s more relaxing than getting away from hustle and bustle and hitting up a hot spring? Hot Springs Cove on Vancouver Island might just be the most secluded hot springs in all of Canada, and it’s the perfect destination for ultimate relaxation.

But, it’s important to note that it’s been closed for the majority of summer due to COVID concerns. There’s a chance that it’s opening up October 1st, but if not, save this gorgeous adventure for next year.

These stunning hot springs are located in the western Clayoquot Sound region of the West Coast of Vancouver Island. It takes quite a bit of effort to get there, but once you do, you’ll be rewarded with the bubbling hot waters of 7 geothermal pools. Yeah, it’s very worth it.

Hot Springs Cove is only accessible by boat or plane, but even then you need to hike an extra 1.5 to 2 kilometres to get to this jaw-dropping spot. As we mentioned, the cove is made up of a series of seven natural pools that are each around a sizzling 47°C. Don’t stress about the heat though, the water flushing in from the Pacific Ocean cools it to a lovely hot spring temperature.

Typically, daily charters from Tofino, BC, are available for anyone looking to take the plunge (literally and figuratively). But, with COVID concerns in place, access to Hot Springs Cove is currently prohibited.

So, whether it opens back up this season or next, put this one at the top of your Canadian adventures list.
