Love a spontaneous trip? These BC Parks offer same-day bookings

Whether you’re a last-minute planner or just love a good spontaneous road trip, it’s always good to have a running list of parks and first-come-first-served campsites to be prepared. Fortunately, BC Parks has put together a list of all the provincial parks that offer visitors and campers same-day bookings.

According to BC Parks, same-day bookings are available at front country parks and campgrounds so long as they have stable internet access, a gatehouse, and enough staff to support same-day arrivals.

When booking your spot, you may notice that some parks have the same-day option during peak season only, in the event that there is limited staffing during the ‘shoulder season.’

So with that in mind, here are all the BC parks offering same-day bookings:

  • Alice Lake
  • Lakelse Lake
  • Bear Creek
  • Miracle Beach
  • Cultus Lake
  • Monck
  • Goldstream Okanagan
  • Lake South
  • Gordon Bay
  • Porteau Cove
  • Herald
  • Rathtrevor Beach
  • Kikomun Creek
  • Shuswap Lake
  • Kokanee Creek
  • Syringa

Note that most provincial parks have a 48-hour booking window, which means the earliest you can reserve your spot is before 8 pm two days prior to your desired arrival date.

This is especially needed for parks without stable internet, staff, or a gatehouse.

So there you have it, last-minute adventurers! These parks are perfect for all of your outdoor spontaneous whimsies – and it’s the perfect time of year to start booking!
