BC is halting indoor dining temporarily for the next few weeks

Ah, Mondays. It was just announced that British Columbia will have to take a step back in its progress, as the latest news from CTV is that indoor dining across the province will be banned for the next few weeks. Thank goodness patio season is rolling, because dine-in won’t be returning until at least mid-April.

As you know, life is going on as relatively normal in the province. But as case numbers have been rising, CTV has reported that BC is aiming to halt indoor dining until April 19th. That means no sit-down Easter dinners or brunches, and hopefully a drop in case numbers. Now before you get all up in arms, this is only temporary. Plus, patio dining and takeout are still A-okay.

Although it hasn’t been confirmed by the government just yet, an announcement from Premier Horgan and Dr. Bonnie Henry is expected this afternoon. The order is then expected to go into effect tonight, March 29th, at midnight. So after today, you won’t be able to dine in until at least April 19th.

So let this be a reminder to wear your mask, wash your hands, and social distance. Because having luxuries like indoor dining and access to shops requires that we all do our part. If you’d like to learn more about BC’s indoor dining restrictions you can click here.
