Ice cream lovers, take note – we have plenty of delicious options in Vancouver to go around, but Baskin-Robbins is making some pretty big moves in Canada recently. In the franchise’s largest development agreement in 51 years, the ice cream chain will open 25 new locations in Metro Vancouver and Calgary. Best of all? The first shop is now open in Burnaby, with the second shop in Surrey following close behind!

“With a sweet legacy in Canada, Baskin-Robbins remains focused on growth across the country,” says Craig Walker, Senior Director of International Business, for Baskin-Robbins in Canada. “We’re delighted to work alongside Adel Ashry of McMaster Group Holdings to bring our full menu of flavours, innovation and treats to new guests in these important markets.”

 The ice cream

With 31 flavours and 107 locations across Canada already, folks are surely in for some great frozen treats, so get your spoons ready for some samples. Better yet, you can still win a year-long supply of ice cream if you enter by August 31st!

“We’re designing our new shops to offer families a destination that helps them bond over a sweet frozen treat in an enjoyable, refreshing and warm environment,” says Ashry in a press release.

New branding

What can folks expect from the new locations? Well, a new eye-catching design, for starters. In the next 18 months, a new branding suite including dipping cabinets and comfy seating will be rolled out.

Vancouverites can now enjoy the two newest shops at Metropolis Metrotown and at Guildford Town Centre. And as for Calgarians, stay tuned via their socials for now, and we’ll check back in soon!

Stay cool and enjoy some scoops, folks.
