Attention, foodies of Toronto. A highly-anticipated new restaurant called Bar Prima is opening its doors on Queen Street West.

Headed by famed chefs Craig Harding and Julian D’Ippolito, as well as Chef de Cuisine Nicholas Iaboni, Bar Prima will surely be an instant hot spot when it opens this fall.

It’s described as “the neighbourhood Italian restaurant you’ve always dreamed of,” with a “luxurious atmosphere that evokes a sense of timelessness and nostalgia,” according to the press release.

The dimly-lit restaurant will have a charming old-school feel, the perfect setting for gathering with friends over delicious Italian food.

Bar Prima will be serving up elevated and refined takes on Italian classics, crafted to suit the elegant surroundings.

Situated in West Queen West next to The Drake Hotel, the location is pretty ideal too.

In anticipation of the opening, the restaurant is releasing curated playlists to evoke the feel of this exciting new spot.

These aren’t just any playlists, either. They’re created by renowned artists like Martina Sorbara of Dragonette and Jimmy Shaw of Metric.

“The mixes will provide fresh doses of inspiration from the likes of Quentin Tarantino, old Hollywood, Italian disco, Madonna and more,” the description says.

You can listen to the first playlist by Martin Sobrara on Spotify here.

So, get excited, Toronto. If you love authentic Italian cuisine and timelessly beautiful restaurants, then stay tuned because the opening of Bar Prima is just around the corner.
