Guess what, movie lovers? Hollywood North has another title under its belt, and Netflix is here to show us where it was filmed. BC-shot Avatar: The Last Airbender was just added to Netflix In Your Neighbourhood, the platform’s official source of filming locations across Canada.

With eight episodes so far, the live-action series is a new take on Nickelodeon’s award-winning series, retelling the story of the four nations (water, earth, fire, and air) under the Avatar – or master of all four elements.

The show stars Filipino-Canadian actor Gordon Cormier as ‘Aang,’ Canadian actress Kiawentiio Tarbell as ‘Katara,’ and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as ‘Uncle Iroh.’

According to Netflix, the episodes were filmed in Burnaby, Maple Ridge, Langley, and Surrey, against the diverse outdoor backdrop of each community. So if you were curious just how each elemental nation was captured, it’s all thanks to the natural beauty of Metro Vancouver!
