It’s finally summer, which means there are infinite places to stop and smell the flowers here in Ontario. Among them is a picturesque lavender farm near Toronto opening to the public this June.

Avalon Lavender Farm is an expansive, family-owned lavender farm located just outside of the GTA in Mono.

There are over 30,000 lavender plants on-site at Avalon, as well as a beautiful winding river walk, adorable farm animals and a fully restored two-story 1891 heritage barn where you can get Avalon’s handmade products.

Avalon is opening up for the season this June 18, which also happens to be National Picnic Day. And they’re kicking things off with a very special event — a picnic, of course!

Visitors will get to enjoy a picnic lunch in an outdoor oasis “surrounded by the beautiful smells of lavender, captivating wildlife, and complete serenity,” the description says. Ah, we’re feeling zen already.

“Whether Torontonians are looking for a family-friendly experience, a wholesome day with friends, or the ultimate romantic date, Avalon will be sure to sweep you off your feet.”

You’re welcome to bring your own picnic to the farm, or you can buy a curated picnic basket filled with delicious bites at the farm.
