North of Toronto, not the North Pole. If you’re on the hunt for magical Christmas markets to attend this holiday season but don’t want to travel into the city for the one in Toronto, this is the perfect solution. Aurora, Ontario is holding its annual Christmas Market from November 29th to December 1st and December 6th to 8th, 2024 and a nighttime Santa Claus Parade on November 23rd.
Happening in Town Square, the market will have vendors, workshops, hot cocoa and visits from the big man himself!
Aurora is about an hour north of Toronto. The best part is if you don’t have a car, you can get to Aurora via the GO Train.
The Christmas Market is happening from November 29th to December 1st and December 6th to 8th, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM while the Santa Claud Parade Under the Stars will be on November 23rd from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
Let’s start with the Santa Claus Parade! The nighttime parade will travel southbound along Yonge Street from Orchard Heights Boulevard to Murray Drive.
Free to attend, onlookers can expect beautifully decorated floats, marching bands and of course, Santa.
If you’re heading to the market, you’re in for a treat.
There will be a full schedule of performances and if you want to elevate your experience there are fun workshops to take part in, including a Hot Cocoa & Canvas Paint Night on November 29th.
For $20 a person, you can sip hot cocoa while you paint a beautiful masterpiece, all led by an instructor.
And of course, it wouldn’t be a Christmas Market without local vendors. Guests can shop and browse everything from treats to jewellery.
